The all-new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has already dominated several markets worldwide. Up next, South Africa. With the country’s extraordinary landscapes, it’s only natural to be thrilled when a new BMW launches in this beautiful rainbow nation.
We have here a set of photos curated for the three models: the 218i, 220d and the top model M235i. A three-cylinder petrol with 138 horspower is powering the 218i. Meanwhile, the BMW 220d, which is a more expensive model, uses a 2.0 liter four-cylinder diesel which has an output of 188 horsepower.
Sitting on the higher-end of the range is the M Performance M235i Gran Coupe, which has a four-cylinder gasoline unit designed to make 302 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. It is an all-wheel drive over and eight-speed automatic transmission.
Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds, which is undeniably fast. Although, it might come a little bland for many enthusiasts but it’s definitely enough to be fun.
The same near-wheel actuator system in BMW i3, dubbed ARB, will be deployed on all the BMW 2 Series. Including the EDLC (Electronic Differential Lock Control), a system that utilizes the brake-torque-vectoring. This then, simulates an actual mechanical locking differential with the DSC off.
Amazingly, the BMW M235i Gran Coupe is available in many different colors: Alpine White, Black Sapphire Metallic, Melbourne Red Metallic, Mineral Grey Metallic, Misano Blue Metallic, Snapper Rocks Blue Metallic and Storm Bay Metallic. The featured photos we have today are the two blue colors and the red ones.
