Latest upgrades for 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupe this fall

The latest upgrades for 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupe will arrive this fall. Significantly, new fuel-efficient power plants for the F40 and F44 line up await for the fans in November. Specifically, the 1 Series will have 116i and the 120i petrol-powered units.

The F40 1 Series range comes with the 116i as its new entry-level engine. Powered by a 3-cylinder engine running on gasoline, 116i produces 107 hp and 190 Nm maximum torque. Further, this new engine can achieve a combined fuel consumption of 5.8 – 5.4 l/100 km.

Standardly, the output goes to the front-axle wheels through the 6-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, the automatic 7-speed transmission with double clutch comes optionally. The only downgrade could be that 116i reaches 100km/h only after 10.6 seconds. Nevertheless, the latest upgrades for 1 Series are very much interesting.

Another fresh offer for the 1 Series: the latest 120i powered with a tuned version of the 2.0-liter B48 petrol engine. This new version generates 175hp (131 kW / 178 PS). Also, the latest upgrades include a 7-speed, double-clutch Steptronic enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.0 seconds. More importantly, the 120i creates a maximum torque of 280 Nm.

An entry-level 216d engine comes with the new portfolio of the 2 Series Gran Coupe. Powered with a 3-cylinder diesel engine, this latest upgrade generates 116 hp and 270 Nm. Additionally, the new 2 Series also offers a 7-speed Steptronic transmission as a standard.

The latest upgrades for 2 Series accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h takes 10.3 seconds. Also, the combined fuel consumption of 4.1 – 3.8 l/100 km is highly frugal for this new engine. Lastly, to complete the overall sportiness, new headlights are optionally available. The BMW Individual Shadowline headlamps with dark inlays are part of the options for the latest upgrades for 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupe this fall.
