Every revved-up wagon today awaits the arrival of the BMW M340i Touring. One of these evidently comes from its main rival, the Mercedes-AMG C43 T-Modell. In this video, the M340i Touring and the C43 T-Modell give its best for the acceleration test. The C43 depends on the V-shaped architecture of the V6 engines, although Mercedes has just discontinued these from its lineup. This engine is not a bad selection, especially that it is one of the last V6s that Mercedes-Benz will produce.
The nine-speed Speedshift transmission gearbox of the C43 performs excellently with its all-wheel drive setup and 3.-litre engine. As a result, it performs better than the BMW with its 390 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque.
Meanwhile, the newly-revealed BMW M340i Touring is powered by a turbocharged 3-litre straight-six engine. This allows the vehicle to boast a maximum of 374 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. Its 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel-drive system also help in providing its best performance. Despite the lower numbers when compared to Mercedes, its lighter configuration and distinct gearing make this Bavarian machine fast-tracked on record. The M340i Touring claims a zero to 100 km/h acceleration in just 4.5 seconds. As for the C43, it only claims a speed of 4.8 seconds.
The big question remains whether this speed record equals its performance in real-life situation. Check out the video to find out more. As for us, the BMW M340i Touring is indeed faster and also gives that great sound.
