[Video] 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 Review

I had the chance to drive the 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 on both the road and the track a few weeks ago, and that’s a truly remarkable experience. My driving adventure on the road was limited because I ran out of time. In this video, we’ll get to see how is it like to drive the XB7 in its most at-home environment with a more in-depth look.

The ALPINA XB7 is an almost pointless car. It weighs as much as a small mountain. With an acceleration of 0-60 mph in the low range for three seconds and it can travel a quarter mile in 12 seconds. While having a royalty interior and a ride quality that is so good, it appears that ALPINA has invented a type of levitating suspension technology.

However, it is not all that difficult to make a luxury SUV fast and comfy. Several car manufacturers have high speed and comfortable SUVs. What distinguishes the ALPINA XB7 is that it is good to drive. Its steering is really nice for such a little SUV. The body control is admirable in something that is so tall and heavy and has more mechanical grip than any of its dimensions. Andreas Bovensiepen was so insistent that the XB7 was put on the track.

Engine

A 4,4 liter V8 twin-turbo powers the 2021 BMW Alpina XB7, making 612 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque on paper. It would not surprise me if these sneaky Germans really underestimated the engine drastically by 100 horsepower as it feels so much stronger. I said the same about the ALPINA B7 and it still applies to the XB7.
