Though the MINI hasn’t reached its full potential yet when it comes to design, there’s no stopping the British manufacturer from claiming various awards. The open-top cruiser managed to take home 2021 Best Convertible by the British magazine Carbuyer. Alongside the announcement this week, CarBuyer Best Car Awards winners were also revealed.
According to the website, MINI Convertible stood out differently, as only a few small cars offer a soft-top these days. It comes with lots of kits, an elegant interior, and is just as fun to drive as the hatch – all at an affordable price. This is MINI’s fourth-time win, as for the last three years, the Oxford-built model claimed the accolades.
“It’s an incredible achievement to win the Carbuyer’s Best Convertible for the fourth time running. Every year since its 2016 launch, the MINI Convertible continues to outsell its rivals and makes every customer happy. This award is a solid testament to that,” said David George, Director, MINI UK. MINI hardtop prepares for a facelift next year, which could bring about some overall changes for the Convertible as well.
It comes off strange as this would be the second time the two cars get a mild modification. But the truth is, money appears to be more essential for more important models, while MINI prepares to enter the electrified generation. Recently, a decrease in sales was apparent and the economy still doesn’t look good with the Coronavirus outbreak present. In fact, MINI already announced recently their upcoming crossover and that’s going to be entirely electric.
