A preview of BMW’s next-gen iDrive System at CES 2021

The new BMW iX model will present the BMW brand with a major new chapter in the Bavarian brand history. In addition to the fact that the new electric SUV will become the group’s technology flagship, it will also offer a fresh concept of the iDrive framework. A core element of the experience we are getting these days inside a BMW. BMW’s next-generation iDrive System will have a preview at the International Consumer Electronics Show this year.

BMW's next-gen iDrive System

The full system will unveil later this year, along with all the remaining features of the BMW iX. As per BMW, the key focus was to create an immersive environment for those inside the vehicle, with intuitive and easy-to-use controls. BMW says ‘Digital Intelligence’ would be available in new vehicles with optimized sensors that allow them to assess their surroundings.

This implies that the vehicle can access a greater supply of information than the driver in certain cases. BMW vehicles will receive alerts and predictions on parking spaces’ availability at a destination. Developments will continue in this direction, bringing new challenges to the car’s display and the operating system now and in the future.

The next-generation BMW iDrive is built to use the ability of an intelligently connected vehicle more thoroughly than ever before. Making the mobility experience even safer, even more comfortable and convenient, and even more versatile. One of the main features we’re keen to test is the rumored ability to monitor features using your eyesight. Practically, the vehicle uses sensors that track your eyes, know where you look, and respond accordingly. For further details of what the latest iDrive system can do, visit the official BMW website.
