While fans truly enjoy watching drag races with incredibly powerful cars, only a few can relate to them. With the price that comes with the powerful engines, only a few can buy them. Therefore, this BMW 420i Coupe vs. Audi A5 40 TFSI drag race sounds very interesting.
Considering the specs of these cars, the race seems exciting already. The Audi A5 40 TFSI does not back down with its 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. It generates 190 horsepower and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. These figures represent closely the entry-level of an A5. In other words, if you want to get an A5, this car sounds like the best option. However, when it comes to Launch Control, its BMW counterpart takes the throne.
Under its hood, the 420i hides a reliable 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. It generates 184 horsepower and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. Obviously, its figures come slightly lower than the Audi’s. Another relevant difference includes the axle that receives the power. BMW 420i comes as an RWD, while Audi has an FWD platform. Also, the A5 sports a dual-clutch, seven-speed gearbox. In contrast, the BMW has an eight-speed torque converter. Lastly, the Audi weighs lighter by 70 kilos compared to the BMW.
