Pre-Orders in Australia for the new BMW i4 Electric

There is still about a year away before the new BMW i4’s debut. However, several countries are now taking pre-orders of the new electric car. On April 16, 2020, Australia opened the pre-order bank for the new BMW i4 electric. There is also no official price for the BMW i4. Yet, customers can reserve an electric i4 for $500 through a dedicated pre-order page. The expected price of the new BMW i4 electric model will be ranging from $50,000 up to $70,000. The latter is for the top model and with a lot of options.

As stated by BMW recently, “Those who reserve their i4 and place a $500 deposit will have the opportunity to specify their vehicle later this year in coordination with their preferred BMW dealer when more detail is released about the model line-up, specification, and equipment offerings.”

The new BMW i4 electric model will come with a power output of 530HP, making a flat four seconds from zero to 100km/h. Its driving ranges cover up to 300 miles (EPA) and 590 km (WLTP). There are no other details as of now for the BMW i4 and its convention name. But as mentioned before, the new BMW i4 will be coming in three power versions. The eDrive35 and the eDrive40 versions are both with exclusive rear-wheel drive. Its top-end M50 will be available exclusively with a specific M Performance Individualization and in xDrive. The eDrive35 and eDrive40 models are likely to be in lower outputs and slightly reduced all-electric range possibly making 450-500 km. It has less power than that of the BMW i4 M50 version.

After releasing the BMW i4, it would likely go head-to-head with the Tesla Model 3. Although it is not the electric 3 Series that everyone expects BMW to build and take on the Tesla, the BMW i4 is still close enough.
