[Video] BMW M3 and M4 Now in xDrive

BMW introduces new versions of the BMW M3 and M4 in Competition Packages, now in all-wheel-drive setups. The automaker decided to make it a standard in Competition Packages, a good move from BMW. That is something remarkable for such well-known and impressive cars. It does not look necessary, but with the experience, BMW had with the F90 M4 is anything to go by, it is worth considering. What makes things more interesting is that these new M cars get to have the M xDrive, the same xDrive as the BMW M5. Check out this newly released video of the BMW M3 and M4 models in xDrive by BMW M.

Despite being an xDrive, BMW tries to maintain the same power and outstanding performance the BMW M3 and M4 offer. Applying this new system to the M cars offers several advantages. Many people thought of these cars losing their character with the introduction of the all-wheel-drive setup. However, BMW takes it further and clever with the M xDrive system putting its power on the rear axles. That is an option for soon-to-be M3 and M4 car owners. There is probably an added weight due to its xDrive, but it still does not outweigh the pros.

The Older F80 M3 and F82 M4 models used to lose against their main rivals in drag races. These M cars do not put their power to the rear axles, despite their advantage in terms of power. Now that would not be the case anymore. Making an M xDrive version of these cars makes it have a better grip and probably launch bullet-speed ahead of its rivals.

As of now, the M3 and M4 Competition are still on RWD setups. Yet, will be on all-wheel-drive setups starting this July. BMW M in this video gives details on how the M cars work on the M xDrive system.
