The MINI Clubman now gets the Customised Multitone Roof

For both the three-door and five-door, MINI announced the addition of a new Multitone Roof customisation. This option is only available for their hardtop variants. If you’re interested, the same option is now available for the MINI Clubman as well. The price of the cars equipped with this option will rise. But at the end of the day, it will enhance its appearance.

Multitone Roof

The MINI Oxford Plant uses a composite painting method to create the Multitone Roof. Wet-on-wet painting is the name of the process that results in a roof with a gradient finish. With a layer in between, it begins with one paint colour and ends with another. The colour scheme goes nicely from the dark San Marino Blue at the front half of the vehicle’s roof to the lighter Pearly Aqua in the middle. Finally, it finishes off to the rear section with Jet Black.

This colour gradient’s distinct look is instantly recognisable. The Multitone Roof’s clour schemes also create a pleasing contrast. This body paint finish is also available in all the MINI 3-door, 5-door and the MINI Clubman. You can combine it with any exterior colours except for the British Racing Green and Chili Red uni metallic variations. Furthermore, other paint colours are also available for the MINI Clubman, such as the Indian Summer Red Mettalic.

MINI performs a specific procedure to finish the Multitone Roof. First, they sprayed the Pearly Aqua on the roof. Second, they applied San Marino Blue to the front. Lastly, they used Jet Black on the back. The unique painting technique is fully integrated into the automated production process at the MINI plant in Oxford. Each MINI with the Multitone Roof is one-of-a-kind despite the fact that the changing ambient conditions cause these small variations in the colour pattern.
