March 2022 – Rumored Arrival of BMW iX xDrive40 in the U.S.

In terms of electrification, the BMW iX currently represents the pinnacle of what BMW can do. As of now, the iX xDrive50 is the top-of-the-line model. It is the only variant available for pre-order in the United States. With 523 horsepower and 564 lb-ft of torque, the BMW iX xDrive50 also has a range of more than 300 miles. However, its starting price lies in the range of $80,000. A very hefty price tag for its good package. As a result, the less expensive BMW iX xDrive40 is what most customers will want to purchase. Expected to arrive in March 2022, customers in the U.S. may be in luck with the rumored arrival of the BMW iX xDrive40.

The iX xDrive40 will be available on this side of the Atlantic in March 2022, according to a post from Bimmerpost. We are not going to say that the date is right since it’s not yet official. However, given the current timelines of BMW, and the reliability of the source, it is somehow possible that it may happen.

Most customers will be satisfied with the BMW iX xDrive40. With a 70 kWh battery pack instead of a 100 kWh one, of course, the specs will be less impressive. It also has only around 300 horsepower instead of 523 and only 249 miles of range instead of 300. However, with a much lower price tag, that is more than enough for most clients. The specs also compensate for its lack of power and range. There is no word on pricing as of yet, but the iX appears to be costly similar to the BMW X5 xDrive40i.

At 200 kW, the less expensive iX will continue to receive the same charging speed. That should be enough to charge the BMW iX xDrive40 from 10 to 80 percent in under 40 minutes. If you only need enough juice to get home, the iX xDrive40 is chargeable just quickly (56 miles in ten minutes).

There will also be a rear-wheel-drive model for customers on the west coast. This should reduce the sticker price even further. The rear-drive ix 40 models will possibly get a range boost while losing some power and traction. This is because of how it gains one fewer electric motor to operate. However, the arrival date of this particular model is not yet final.

BMW fans in the U.S. do not need to worry anymore. Especially when they are looking forward to the less expensive BMW iX. The iX xDrive40 is expected to be available in March next year. It should provide a better value in terms of range, power, and price.
