What to expect from the 2022 BMW iX xDrive50

Announcing the 2022 BMW iX xDrive50 speed wows enthusiasts with its 0-60 mph time, sprinting in just 4.4 seconds, with a top speed of 124mph. It also makes it to 100km/h from a standstill in 4.6 seconds. With a curb weight of 5,659 lbs, it can carry a payload of up to 1,054 lbs. These are some of the key specs of the iX xDrive50 as declared by BMW North America.

The projected 2022 range of the BMW iX xDrive50 is about 300 miles, owing to a battery with a gross energy content of 111.5 kWh and a net energy content of 106.3 kWh. To charge the high-voltage battery as quickly as possible, a DC fast charger is integrated into the powertrain of the BMW iXxDrive50.

At a fast-charging station, the range of the iX xDrive50 increase up to 90 miles at 195 kW in just ten minutes when connected at just a 10% charge. Increasing the charge level of the high-voltage battery’s from 10% to 80% would take less than 40 minutes with the same fast charger.

The xDrive50’s two engines produce 268 hp and 260 lb-ft of maximum torque while the rear engine produces 335 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. With a combined output of 516 hp and 564 lb-ft of torque, it now has a standard weight distribution of 48.2 / 51.8.
