[VIDEO] BMW i4 eDrive40 has More Range than the M50

A new EV option in a competitive segment made customers thrilled since the BMW i4 eDrive40 has begun to arrive in dealerships globally. People find it interesting watching how it develops as the 4 Series Gran Coupe is BMW’s bread and butter. However, they share several technological similarities, although the i4 isn’t quite a 3 Series. The main question is which of the two BMW i4 models outstands from the other one.

Some people may argue that there isn’t sufficient power in the lower-spec BMW i4 eDrive40. However, people must also discuss of how much power does a car needs. If you want more, there are still more than 300 ponies available. In any case, that number doesn’t ever reach by most cars on the road these days.

Due to its single-motor system, the i4 eDrive40 doesn’t have an all-wheel drive. In other words, its single-motor system only powers the rear wheel of the i4 eDrive40. But only to a point, the i4 eDrive40 may hold more water as a con. You won’t need all-wheel drive unless you live in a location that snows from time to time. Although not necessary, it’s good to have an all-wheel drive. On the other hand, the i4 eDrive40 has more range than the M50 version of the i4. And according to car enthusiasts, many customers would likely choose the BMW i4 eDrive40.

It’s a lighter model, making it possible to have more range than the M50. In comparison to the dual-setup of the M50 alternative, it’s more lightweight with only one motor. Also, the i4 eDrive40 lacks an M badge on the front grille and is a lot slower. Still, it may turn out to be more than enough for most car enthusiasts. And this seems to be suggested by the video above.
