[VIDEO] Comparing the BMW M440i Gran Coupe with BMW i4 M50

For those unfamiliar with BMW’s nonsensical terminology, the name of the BMW M440i Gran Coupé might cause some confusion. The M440i Gran Coupe is part of the 4 Series. It is a four-door sedan with a hatchback boot, despite the “coupe” in its name. Apart from the powertrain, of course, it is essentially identical to the BMW i4 electric car. The BMW M4409 Gran Coupe is certainly fast, just like other grand touring cars. At least on paper.

Thanks to its brilliant B58 engine, it produces 382 hp and 369 pound-feet of torque. This power is transmitted via xDrive all-wheel drive and the ubiquitous eight-speed automatic. According to BMW, the M440i manages to sprint from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds, which is probably true. However, as far as the driving experience is concerned, the BMW i4 M50 is just as fast and much more fun to drive. It has a power output of 536 horsepower and torque of 586 lb-ft. BMW sells the four-door BMW M340i with the same powertrain and performance for about the same price.

While comparing it with the BMW i4 M50 and the M340i, the video further analyzes the BMW M440i Gran Coupe’s driving performance. In addition, aside from the car’s inside and outside design details, Nico also discussed the massive kidney grille. And as if that was not enough, to show how the M440i Gran Coupe compares to the M340i Sedan, Nico also gets behind the wheel.

However, it is important to discuss if one makes more sense than the other as the i4 is the most similar in design to the M440i Gran Coupe. Customers may be tempted to compare them, although they are entirely different in driving and technological approaches. To find out which one you should buy, don’t forget to watch the video above.
