[VIDEO] AutoTopNL’s POV Review on the BMW i4 M50

For die-hard BMW fans, it may be hard to believe that the BMW i4 M50 is just as fast as the BMW M3 Competition, if not faster. Indeed, an electric M Performance four-door GT cannot compete with a proper M Division product, although EVs are fast. If that’s the case, check out this point of view review from AutoTopNL.

As the roads are wet and slippery, the video clearly shows how accessible the speed of the i4 M50 is. If you are not careful, the M3 Competition can be a hairy beast in the rain. If you are not careful, the M3’s unpredictable handling could catch you off guard, although the xDrive model helps. Compared to the M3, the BMW i4 M50, with its two tonnes of curb weight and the massive grip of all-wheel drive, is faster in the wet.

In slippery conditions, the AutoTopNL achieved acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.74 seconds. This means that on dry roads it is almost as fast as an BMW M3 Competition. The i4 M50 is back on its feet faster than the M3, even if it has gone berserk thanks to its instant response using electric motors.

But the BMW i4 M50 outperforms even an M3 or M4 with all-wheel drive once it gets going. Although heavier, it was faster than the M4 xDrive, sprinting from 100 to 200 km/h in 8.67 seconds. Compared to the Tesla Model 3 Performance 100-200 km/h run by AutoTopNL, it is faster.

According to people who have driven the BMW i4 M50, it does not compare to the exhilarating driving experience of an BMW M3 Competition xDrive. Being a pleasant cruiser while destroying most cars in a straight line is pretty amazing. It’s hard to argue against it as an everyday car.
