[VIDEO] BMW i4 vs Tesla Model 3: Which is better?

The i4’s main competitor is the hugely popular Tesla although the Bavarians do not see Tesla as a direct premium competitor. Thus, the BMW i4 eDrive40 M Sport competes against the Tesla Model 3 Long Range in this latest Electrifying comparison test. Ginny Buckley, one of the co-hosts of this video comparison, begins by claiming that the i4 is expected to win. Although the Model 3 usually wins these comparison tests, making this as an intriguing claim.

Still, the two vehicles have a surprising amount in common. The i4 eDrive40 M Sport’s WLTP range is 365 miles and acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes just 5.7 seconds. The Tesla Model 3’s 75 kWh battery has a WLTP range of 374 miles, and the car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. Both cars are priced below the £52,000 mark, and although the i4 has rear-wheel drive, the Tesla has all-wheel drive. This makes it a better option for customers living in areas with harsh winters.

On the other hand, every car has its advantages and disadvantages. The Tesla not only has a big screen and farts on demand, but is also faster and more efficient than its competitors. However, the BMW i4 is a much more comfortable, sophisticated and practical alternative. The i4’s interior is better and it’s more fun to drive than the BMW 3 Series. On the other hand, Tesla’s Supercharger network is significantly more convenient and extensive than any other charging network.

Both cars are excellent EV sedans with quick acceleration, responsive handling and sufficient range for everyday use. However, this film has to have a winner, and that winner could be controversial. Wearing a helmet is probably a wise choice.
