This time, the 2022 BMW 2 Series Active Tourer (U06) appears in fresh UK photographs in a far more intriguing Skyscraper Gray. As seen in previous BMW models, the gray metallic paint changes from rather dark silver to a dark gray depending on the outdoor light.

The design of the cabin differs significantly from the Luxury Line standard. This model features premium Vernasca leather seats in Oyster, paired by trim in woven aluminum. The large curved display naturally dominates the interior and improves the appearance of this refined minivan. In terms of price, the Luxury Line depends on the engine and standard kit.

Customers who opt for the BMW 220i Active Tourer get 17-inch wheels as standard. But you can also order wider wheels for an additional charge. Moreover, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer in Skyscraper Gray rides on a set of 19-inch BMW Individual 839I multi-spoke wheels in bicolour.

The 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine (B38) with 170 hp and 206 lb-ft of torque (280 Nm) powers the BMW 220i (U06). A seven-speed dual-clutch Aisin transfers power to the front wheels. In addition, the engine has received a technical upgrade. More than 90% of the details are new or improved. Including dual injection, the Miller Combustion process and an Evo ignition system. It also features a 48V mild-hybrid that increases fuel efficiency. The BMW 220i gets a top speed of 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds.

Aside from the new motor, the Active Tourer has some great engineering going on. It features a stiffer, more robust chassis than most BMWs. Due to an aluminium bonnet and aluminium components inside the chassis cell. Together with freshly changed lift-related dampers and what BMW refers to as near-actuator wheel slip restrictions, these lightweight changes will make it feel a little more lively in the turns.
