Tom Cruise takes a 5 series in the trailer for Mission: Impossible–Dead Reckoning. They dropped the trailer a few days ago, and it looks incredible.
For more than a decade, BMW has worked with Paramount and the Mission: Impossible franchise. They began with the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept in Ghost Protocol. And then BMW is back with Dead Reckoning Part One.
There are loads of great-looking action set pieces in this new dramatic trailer. And it includes one in which Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt rides a dirt bike off a cliff with a parachute.
The 5 Series comes as a doorless ride in this trailer. Rather than the usual BMW M5 shown in the previous MI film, Fallout. This one is a standard everyday 5 Series LCl. The bimmer here also seems like a BMW 540i. It’s not even an M performance model, judging by the trapezoidal exhausts.
The brief trailer shows Haley Atwell’s (Captain America: The First Avenger) character driving the M5. She is reversing between two closely spaced cars with the car’s doors open for some reason. They then drive through what appears to be Rome, with their doors completely off. Perhaps they wanted it to become a Superleggera.
Of course, the 5 Series isn’t the only car in the teaser. Every Mission: Impossible film requires Tim Cruise to drive, fly, and crash at least five different cars, based on contract. And the second car is a classic Fiat 500. Which undoubtedly made for a thrilling car chase.
Tom Cruise said that most moves in the modern Mission: Impossible are great. And he can’t wait for this new one. He also stated that it could be the best yet, and the action scenes look next level. He added that he wants to see if they will get those doors back. Watch Tom Cruise takes a 5 Series into the MI chase!
