BMW India will launch at most ten 50 Jahre M Edition vehicles in 2022 to celebrate 50 years of M. The latest innovation is based on a 5 Series Sedan, a 530i model to be precise. It follows the earlier special editions of the 6 Series Gran Turismo and the 3 Series Sedan from earlier this year. Manufactured in Chennai, it features the M Sport package.
The 50 Jahre M Edition models provide additional basic equipment and a few aesthetic upgrades. However, they don’t offer any new features. The dark-tinted laser headlights are from the earlier option that allowed consumers to customise their cars in this manner. Also included are the black 18-inch wheels, kidney grille, and two exhaust tailpipes.
This 2022 M Performance vehicle features legendary motorsport insignia and hubcaps. Alpine White, Phytonic Blue, Bernina Grey Amber Effect, and M Carbon Black are 50th-anniversary body colours. BMW India will have M seatbelts, piano black inlays, and black ceramic switches.
There are no changes to the engine. The 252 bhp and 350 Nm of torque from the turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine will be retained in the 5 Series 50 Jahre M Edition. Thanks to the power of the four-stroke engine, the 530i reaches 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. There are only a limited number of examples left!
