[Video] 2023 BMW X7 M60i in Sapphire Black

The BMW X7 LCI sports BMW’s first split headlamp design, along with the XM and the 7 Series/i7, both of which are on the way. There are only a few versions with this unusual lighting configuration. The introduction of the M60i in 2023 marks the beginning of the end for the M50i designation.

Herb Chambers BMW of Sudbury just received a Black Sapphire Metallic M Performance X7, which will be displayed on standard 21-inch wheels with all-season run-flat tyres. Brake callipers are now black rather than the standard blue. The full-size SUV may be outfitted with 22- or 23-inch alloys for an upcharge.

In addition to the strikingly revised front fascia, the LCI also brings the M-esque mirror design to the X7 M60i. LED taillights with a 3D look and excellent side graphics round out the vehicle’s design. Select the M Sport Professional Package from the list of available upgrades to achieve that dead-eyed appearance. Included in this package are the aforementioned black brake callipers and the Extended Shadowline Trim, consisting of several different dark body details and black chrome quad exhaust tips.

Upgrading to the X7 M60i also comes with a new M-branded key, following the iX’s lead. BMW replaced the N63 engine with the S68, a 4.4-liter V8 with 48V mild-hybrid technology. Its output of 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque has not changed (750 Newton-meters). The ALPINA XB7 is an upgrade that uses the same S68 engine to produce 613 horsepower and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque.

A LED M logo replaces the X7 on the base xDrive40i’s centre console. More significantly, BMW has replaced the cumbersome automatic transmission lever with the same compact gear selector found in the 3 Series LCI. This M60i has seven seats, but second-row captain’s chairs may be added for $850.
