The New BMW M5 Competition 50 Jahre M Edition Makes its Debut

The eighth “50 Jahre” special edition model for India may be the most sought-after thus far. This limited-edition super sedan, based on the M5 in its hotter Competition form, arrives in Aventurine Red. It looks more stunning with a kidney grille completely covered in black. And on top of that grille is an anniversary roundel commemorating the M division’s 50th anniversary.

The trunk and wheel centre caps also come with their retro-inspired emblem cover. In connection with it, compound brakes with red brake callipers match the 20-inch M Jet Black alloy wheels. BMW India has added further black details to the M5 to dress up the high-performance saloon, including the trunk lid spoiler and side mirror caps.

Additionally, the laser headlights appear with the Shadowline treatment, and the quad exhaust tips have a black chrome finish. On the exterior, the “M5 Competition” emblems on the grille, side gills, and trunk complete the dark highlights.

The M5 Competition 50 Jahre sports an anthracite headlining and Merino leather in Aragon Brown. We know this despite the lack of inside photos. Soft-close doors and Comfort Access, which lets you open the doors and tailgate without a key, are also standard features. As a full-fat M vehicle, it also features a carbon roof and four-zone climate control in addition to unique seatbelts, footrests, pedals, and steering wheels.

No mechanical improvements are visible as with the preceding 50 Jahre special editions. The twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 with 625 horsepower and 750 Newton-meters of torque continues to power the M5 Competition. This enables it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in under 3.3 seconds. An eight-speed M Steptronic transmission transfers all that Bavarian power to the xDrive system. Additional features include a Track driving mode for maximum performance, an M Adaptive suspension, an M Sport exhaust, and more goodies.
