BMW M4 GT3 Claims Victory at 24 Hours of Dubai Race

BMW M Team WRT dominated Dubai and won the 24-hour race. After a suspenseful conclusion, the BMW M4 GT3 won. This was BMW’s first victory in the 24H Dubai since Schubert Motorsport won in 2011. It was also the first victory for the BMW M4 GT3 in a 24-hour event. BMW M Team WRT privately arranged the Dubai expedition to prepare for the first official appearance with BMW M Motorsport. The Bathurst 12 Hours, an event in Australia, is set to take place in just three weeks. Third place for the #46 BMW M4 GT3 closed out an excellent weekend for BMW M Team WRT.

Jens Klingmann and Dries Vanthoor operated the winning M4 GT3 for BMW M works. Mohammed Saud Fahad Al Saud, Diego Menchaca, and Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer are also part of the team. BMW M works drivers Valentino Rossi, Maxime Martin, Max Hesse, Timothy Whale, and Sean Gelael all raced in the #46 vehicle. It was Rossi’s first podium finish with WRT, who has won the motorcycling world championship nine times.

The team started sixth on the grid. Despite a setback, the #7 M4 GT3 was able to reclaim first place during the final 30 minutes of the race. Thanks to a brilliantly executed racing strategy. Initially, the crew of the #46 vehicle started in eighth place. But they quickly moved up to the top three early in the race. However, after two and a half hours, the team experienced a setback when the car spun into the crash barriers on a circuit that had grown slick from fluids on the track. Despite this setback, the #46 vehicle recovered and finished in third place. The team completes an excellent weekend for BMW M Team WRT. Car #46 was allowed to resume the race and begin making its way back through the field and onto the podium after a brief check-up in the pit.

The new BMW M4 GT4 had a great start to its first season in the GT4 division. Both of the starting field’s vehicles finished on the podium in their respective classes. Simpson Motorsport’s new #438 BMW M4 GT4 finished in second place, ahead of Century Motorsport’s #429 BMW M4 GT4, which took third. With the BMW M4 GT4’s predecessor, the RHC-Jorgensen-Strom by Century team was unable to complete.
