[VIDEO] The 2023 BMW M850i Convertible in Frozen Skyscraper Grey

According to sources within BMW, the future of the 8 Series seems uncertain. The name may endure for a third generation. However, it no longer includes two-door body styles and gasoline engines. The current coupe and convertible models will cease production. With this, only the Gran Coupe continues to be produced as an electric vehicle.

The changeover is not expected to occur until the middle of the decade. As a result, there is still time to get the elegant grand tourer with only two doors. You still got your choice of an inline-six or V8 engine. At the BMW Welt in Munich, an M850i xDrive Convertible with an Individual matte paint is one pricey build that stands out. The elegant cabrio looks stunning in Frozen Pure Grey and features 20-inch wheels with a two-tone appearance. It also has a light blue cloth top.

Additionally, it has the anniversary emblems unveiled the previous year as BMW celebrated 50 years of M. The retro-style roundel is not present on the interior. However, they are visible at the front and back and for the wheel centres. The inside of this automobile looks luxurious in its Ivory White with Night Blue full-grain Merino leather.

The M850i xDrive Convertible has many features, as is customary for vehicles at the BMW Welt. It receives the Innovation Package, which includes Parking Assistant Plus, Driving Assistant Professional, and laser headlights. The Open-Air Package, which includes heated armrests and a neck warmer with air vents incorporated into the headrests, are also part of the construction. Lastly, the Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System is also part of the package.

The opulent cabrio, which belongs to the 2023MY model year, has the understated makeover unveiled a little over a year ago. The expanded 12.3-inch infotainment makes this clear, even though, like the previous 5 Series, the 8 Series sticks with the outdated iDrive 7 rather than upgrading to the newest multimedia technology. The M-specific mirror design and a redesigned kidney grille boldly bearing an M emblem also come as new additions to the M Performance variant in all three body lines with the introduction of the Life Cycle Impulse

The 8 Series Convertible is still a handsome vehicle. Still, it is up against some tough competition from the brand-new Mercedes SL, which AMG has built as a vehicle that is more driver-focused and features a 2+2 configuration.
