MINI, the regional fashion brand, has teamed up with Spanish footwear company HOFF to create a limited-edition sneaker. The bold green and yellow sneakers were inspired by MINI’s Cooper SE electric car, with the winning design chosen from nearly 300 entries. Carlota Huertas was the winner with her “Electricity Feeling” theme, and she will be receiving a one-year loan of a Cooper SE as a reward. These are available for purchase on HOFF’s website until February 23rd. It comes with limited production to prevent waste and deliveries will start in April.
This is not MINI’s first collaboration with a footwear brand. In fact, it has worked with Puma over a decade ago on shoes, clothes, and accessories. Last year, the MINI Lifestyle Collection included everything from T-shirts to scooters.
MINI is in the process of moving production of the Cooper SE electric car from the UK to China. It is also seeking $90 million in funding from British authorities to build electric cars locally in the future.
The next-generation Cooper SE and the first-ever electric Countryman will be revealed later this year. MINI has committed to ending sales of cars with combustion engines by the early 2030s, which will stop selling ICE vehicles by the end of this decade.
