The BMW X///M splashes into Singapore

After a relatively short time since its worldwide unveiling, BMW’s XM has speedily arrived in Singapore. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re likely aware that BMW M Division’s latest creation is big and substantial. Packed with big tech from the meisters in Bavaria, the XM has been christened with ///M-Division’s first ever Plug-in Hybrid 4.4 litre Twin Turbo-ed V8 that punches out a combined 800Nm of torques and 635 hrsprs.

But it’s not just the XM’s performance that makes it stand out. Measuring over 5 meters in length (5,110mm), 2 meters in width (2,210mm), a little over 1.7 meters in height (1,755mm), and weighing a hefty 2,785 kilograms, the XM is a significant presence in the constantly evolving world of large luxury SUVs – and its size is just one of the reasons why. While the engine figures and sizeable dimensions do present us with some rather significant numbers, the set of numbers that has gotten the most attention is this, 1,003,888. One Million, three thousand, eight hundred and eighty eight. That is the amount of dollars you’d need to fork out to get the keys to the BMW XM, yes, this is BMW’s most expensive car yet that doesn’t have a Rolls Royce badge on it.

But wait, there’s more. If that price tag doesn’t faze you, there’s an even more powerful “Label Red” variation in the works. This version will have 748 horsepower and 1,000Nm of torque, making it even more expensive-er and more impressive-er than the “base” model.

Whilst opinions on the car seemed to have split attending motoring journos right down the middle with half loving and half loathing it. What do you think? Would you pick a BMW XM over a Range Rover Autobiograhpy, Bentley Bentayga, Maybach GLS or AMG G63? Must be nice being rich.
