2024 BMW i5 M60: Japan’s Exclusive Preview

Two months ago, BMW launched the eighth-generation 5 Series. Now, it’s finally gracing Japanese shores. The luxury automaker has spent years perfecting pop-up galleries, revolutionizing how we first meet cars. No longer are auto shows or dealerships the norm. Today, the spotlight falls on the G60 in a short showcase. It’s making its grand debut in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Situated in Tokyo’s Omotesando Crossing Park, THE GARDEN by BMW, aptly named FREUDE, welcomes fans of the esteemed German automaker. Here, you can delve into the intricacies of the i5. This isn’t just any electric 5 Series, but the vividly Fire Red i5 M60. In addition to this, the new pop-up exhibit will also showcase two other electric powerhouses, the i7 and iX.

The XM, BMW’s inaugural M model in years, is also set for display. Visitors aren’t just observers; they can actually test-drive these vehicles. BMW selected Tokyo’s Omotesando for its unique blend of culture and shopping experiences.

BMW’s temporary exhibit goes beyond cars, featuring a pop-up shop with items from their Lifestyle collection. Some exclusive pieces collaborate with local businesses like Tsutaya Bookstore, fostering German-Japanese relations. A special treat is ‘The Calm’, a BMW film starring Uma Thurman and Pom Klementieff, alongside the i7 M70.

FREUDE by BMW – THE GARDEN is Tokyo’s second pop-up gallery this year, following the inaugural one in March. It’s open till September 17.
