Yes, both models boast the dynamic S58 engine and a seamless eight-speed automatic transmission. Despite sharing this heart, the spirited saloon carries an extra 140 kilos, showcasing unmatched grandeur and practicality. The team at Carwow staged a series of exhilarating drag races, featuring the sizzling M duo. Initially, the M3 CS adopted a rear-wheel drive stance to level the playing field. Unsurprisingly, the lighter M4 CSL seized early victories, showcasing its lean might. But the real shocker came when xDrive entered the scene. The M3 CS transformed, leaving the coupé in the dust with a swift launch off the line, a triumphant nod to the supreme power of AWD.
The M4 CSL dominated the subsequent rolling races, commanding speeds from 50 mph to midway. Yet, in a twist of events, the bulkier M3 CS won the 100 mph brake test, defying its larger build.
