Lease vs. Buy: BMW i4 M50 Decisions

In October, BMW’s i4 M50 gains a $7,500 lease rebate, like other i4 trims, but monthly payments may not change much due to lower residual value and higher money factor.

In 2022, BMW M marked its 50th year with a record 8.4% sales increase to 177,257 units. The i4 M50, with 544 hp and 795 Nm of torque, was the top-selling model, offering an electric alternative to the ALPINA B4 Gran Coupe.

For i4 M50 leases, the $7,500 tax rebate goes directly to the lessee. Compare lease and purchase payments, and factor in taxes, fees, and state requirements.

Leasing has lower payments, no down payment, and return options. Purchasing means ownership, modifiability, and no mileage limits, but higher payments and maintenance responsibility. Stay tuned for our 2024 BMW i4 eDrive40 deal as we bid farewell to our BMW i3 Range Extender.
