2024 BMW X6 M: Techno Violet Meets Future Tech

In 2023, timeless colours remain at the forefront. BMW showcased the sleek SUV in the iconic Techno Violet Metallic during its X6 unveiling in Bulgaria. With its “299” paint code, this shade evokes memories of the 3 Series E36. BMW highlights it as a trending Individual colour with the 2024 X6 M.

Last year, BMW spotlighted Techno Violet in the M3’s 50 Jahre edition among its five standout shades. We’re seeing the Competition model with the base model retired and this X6 M as an LCI variant. The Life Cycle Impulse refines the front appearance, whereas the X5 M Competition introduces new taillight designs. These changes are subtler than the ones on the X5 M Competition.

Sporting slimmer matrix LED headlights, the 2024 X6 M Competition pairs them with a reimagined grille featuring horizontal slats for an aggressive, fresh appearance. Its front bumper offers a detailed design, while the pre-LCI version emphasises larger air intakes, exuding a meaner vibe.

The 2024 X6 M Competition rolls on 21-inch front and 22-inch rear 809M-style wheels, showcasing a two-tone finish and blue brake calipers, as selected by BMW. Inside, BMW opted for full Adelaide Grey Merino leather trim complemented by carbon fibre highlights on the centre console and dashboard. From 2024, the X6 M Competition boasts an illuminated M on the dashboard’s passenger side, a feature it shares with the M60i. Lower-tier models replace this with an “X”.

Manufacturers plan to produce the standard G06 X6 and the F96-generation X6 M deep into the decade. While many speculate a shift to Neue Klasse, insiders think the upcoming model will stick to the CLAR platform, setting the stage for an iX6 using the same foundation.
