MINI Unveils JCW Countryman with 312 HP

In September, MINI teased the JCW Countryman, and now it’s official. Different from the confusingly named John Cooper Works trim, this JCW variant boasts a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, delivering 312 hp in the US, aligning with BMW’s North American M Performance crossovers.

With 400 Nm of torque, the JCW accelerates to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 155 mph. The “ALL4” indicates all-wheel drive, and though transmission details are undisclosed, the seven-speed, dual-clutch Steptronic is likely.

The JCW flaunts an updated logo and rides on exclusive 19- or 20-inch wheels, aerodynamically optimized, boasting a drag coefficient of 0.26. Production is in Leipzig, Germany, alongside the regular third-gen Countryman. US production begins in March 2024, with dealers receiving units in early May. Pricing starts at $46,900, plus $995 in destination and handling fees.

Departing from the second-gen model, BMW has internalized production for the JCW Countryman. The original Countryman rolled off the assembly line at Magna Steyr’s plant in Graz, Austria.
