In 2023, BMW Group Canada witnessed a remarkable 12.1% surge in deliveries, totaling 35,436 units, including MINIs. The core BMW brand saw an impressive 11.3% sales increase to 31,021 units, driven by the X1 and 7 Series, with deliveries tripling compared to the previous year. Notably, the fully electric i7 accounted for almost half of all 7 Series sold.
BMW M shipments grew by 12% in 2023, making BMW Canada the second-largest market globally for BMW M. The launch of the XM played a pivotal role in this success. Electrified vehicle demand for the main brand jumped by 30%, setting a new record with 20% of overall sales featuring a charging port. Pure EV deliveries spiked by 91%, constituting 13% of all cars sold in Canada in 2023.
For MINI, 2023 concluded with 4,415 cars delivered, a 17.5% increase from 2022. Popular models like the 5-Door hatchback, convertible, and Countryman crossover drove demand. The Countryman is transitioning to the next generation, arriving in Canada as the Cooper S in spring, followed by a fully electric model later in the year.
BMW Motorrad celebrated a record year in Canada, delivering 2,789 units in 2023, up by 7% from the previous year. While global BMW sales results for 2023 are pending, BMW USA reported a record-breaking year, delivering 362,244 cars in 2023. These accomplishments solidify BMW’s global triumph in the automotive arena.
