BMW M4 GT3s Debut New Designs During DTM Hockenheim Testing

Last week at Hockenheim, Schubert Motorsport took full advantage of the DTM’s official test drives. They meticulously fine-tuned their trio of BMW M4 GT3s. Sporting new designs from BMW M Motorsport partners RoboMarkets, Shell, and Schaeffler, drivers René Rast, Sheldon van der Linde, and Marco Wittmann tested their vehicles. They ensured the cars were ready for the season’s kickoff later this month.

The team engaged in a comprehensive testing regimen over two days, aiming to optimize car performance and driver familiarity with the updated vehicles. Feedback from the sessions was overwhelmingly positive, suggesting a strong start to their competitive season.

In parallel, the ADAC GT Masters sessions featured the FK Performance Motorsport team. This contributes to BMW’s additional presence on the track. Another notable update from the event was the announced changes to the BMW M2 Cup for 2024. It will decentralize car management and expand the model lineup eligible for competition, enhancing the series’ accessibility and variety.

BMW M Motorsport’s Björn Lellmann commented on the unique atmosphere and the rigorous preparation exhibited at Hockenheim. He praised the Schubert Motorsport team for their professionalism and readiness. This also indicates strong prospects for performance in the 2024 championship races.

Drivers shared insights from the test drives, underscoring the team’s smooth integration and excitement for the new car designs. Marco Wittmann highlighted the vital connections with team members and engineers. Meanwhile, Sheldon van der Linde expressed satisfaction with the well-executed testing program and his car’s distinctive new look. René Rast noted the seamless transition to managing three vehicles, showcasing Schubert Motorsport’s adept handling of the expanded lineup.
