BMW X5 Update: Mastering Multifaceted Excellence

Meet the freshly redesigned BMW X5, an SUV that combines luxury with practicality and performance. Mat from Carwow took the latest iteration of this family-friendly vehicle for a spin to determine if it truly is the ultimate all-rounder.

Beginning with the exterior, the new BMW X5 showcases several striking updates. At the rear, you’ll find redesigned tail lights and a refreshed bumper, while the sides boast new alloy wheel designs. This M Sport model, particularly, features stylish black window surrounds and roof bars that complement its sporty aesthetic. The front mirrors the rear with new headlights and a revamped bumper, all accented by sharp, hard-edged creases that enhance the X5’s robust appearance.

Inside, the BMW X5 maintains its tradition of luxury with soft-touch materials throughout. It now includes BMW’s latest curved infotainment screen and a digital dial display, enhancing functionality and flair. Storage is abundant, making the X5 as practical as it is elegant, and the seats are exceptionally comfortable and suitable for long journeys.

Under the hood, the X5 offers a range of powerful engines. Two 3-litre straight-six diesels produce 300hp and 350hp, respectively, while a 3-litre straight-six turbo petrol engine paired with an electric motor delivers an impressive 490hp. The M60i version features a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 for those seeking even more power, unleashing 530hp.

Pricing for the new X5 starts at around £69,000 and climbs to approximately £94,000 for the fully-equipped M60i model. Mat is keen to explore whether it holds its own against competitors like the Mercedes GLE or Audi Q7.
