BMW M4 GT3s and Ten Drivers Gear Up for 24h Nürburgring

June promises an exciting lineup of 24-hour endurance races for BMW M Motorsport. The action begins on June 1st and 2nd with the 52nd edition of the 24h Nürburgring. BMW M Team RMG and ROWE Racing are fielding three BMW M4 GT3s, targeting BMW’s 21st overall victory in this legendary race.

The three SP9 Pro cars will feature ten BMW M works drivers this year. The #72 BMW M4 GT3 from BMW M Team RMG showcases three Gen2K drivers: Dan Harper, Max Hesse, and Charles Weerts. Harper and Hesse return with the Stefan Reinhold-led team for their fourth race, while Weerts debuts at the 24h Nürburgring. The car’s livery, designed by Shell, features illuminated foil for striking nighttime visuals.

ROWE Racing fields two BMW M4 GT3s. In the #98 car, returning drivers Marco Wittmann and Maxime Martin are joined by Raffaele Marciello and Augusto Farfus. The #98 team secured a second-place finish in the 2023 race and also looks strong this year. Farfus will also compete in the #99 car alongside Sheldon van der Linde, Dries Vanthoor, and Robin Frijns, combining their Nordschleife expertise for another strong showing.

For BMW M works drivers and BMW M Motorsport, the 24h Nürburgring isn’t just about the race; it’s also about earning points in the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC). This year marks the first inclusion of the Nürburgring 24h in the IGTC calendar. Marciello and Martin earned points with a fourth-place finish at Bathurst earlier this year.

Besides BMW M Team RMG and ROWE Racing, numerous BMW teams will compete with 33 different vehicles, including ten BMW M4 GT4s and six BMW M240i Racings, across various classes. The event highlights BMW’s strong presence and diverse participation in endurance racing.

Adding to the excitement, the new BMW M4 GT3 EVO and BMW M4 GT4 EVO will debut at the ring°boulevard starting May 30th. These new models represent the future of BMW M Motorsport, ready to conquer tracks worldwide.

Andreas Roos, Head of BMW M Motorsport, emphasized the Nürburgring’s importance to BMW’s racing history and expressed confidence in the team’s preparations. Stefan Reinhold of BMW M Team RMG highlighted the strong team dynamic and readiness for the home race. Hans-Peter Naundorf of ROWE Racing expressed the team’s ambition to secure a top podium finish.

Drivers like Max Hesse and Raffaele Marciello are eager for the race, highlighting the car’s preparation and the strong team lineup. Sheldon van der Linde looks forward to competing with ROWE Racing for the fourth time, aiming for his first Nürburgring victory.
