Alpina has introduced enhanced versions of their B3 and B4 models, now offering GT versions that boost performance significantly. The B3 and B4 GT models enjoy an increase of 34 horsepower, bringing their total to an impressive 529 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque from a twin-turbocharged inline-six engine. This enhancement puts them in direct contention with BMW’s M Competition models, offering a compelling choice for enthusiasts.
For those who appreciate the aesthetics of a sleeker BMW, the Alpina B3 GT is available in both sedan and wagon forms, based on the understated design of the 3 Series, which notably features a smaller front grille compared to the M3. The GT versions maintain visual parity with the competition models in terms of power, and their allure is further enhanced by Alpina’s iconic wheel design and unique colour options. Alternatively, the B4 GT continues to impress in its Gran Coupe guise, sporting the larger grille for those who prefer a bolder look.
Performance-wise, the GT models benefit from a refined engine mapping that slightly improves acceleration, with the B3 GT sedan clocking from zero to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds, and both the B3 GT Touring and B4 GT Gran Coupe following closely at 3.5 seconds. The cars distribute their robust power through a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system linked to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. Stylistically, the GT variants distinguish themselves with subtle yet impactful additions such as front canards, a new splitter, and a redesigned rear diffuser in black, complemented by new exhaust tips. Although these cars start at over 100,000 Euro and are not available in North America, their exclusivity and advanced specifications make them a coveted option for European buyers.
