BMW M Motorsport celebrated an exhilarating win at the Indianapolis 8 Hour as Team WRT took home a narrow victory. Sheldon van der Linde, Dries Vanthoor, and Charles Weerts, driving the #31 BMW M4 GT3, clinched the win with a lead of just 0.260 seconds. Van der Linde set the tone early, moving the BMW M4 GT3 from fourth to second within the first few corners. After Weerts took over, the trio dominated much of the race, pulling ahead by nearly half a minute. However, multiple safety car incidents erased their lead, setting up a nail-biting final hour. Vanthoor skillfully closed the gap on the leading Porsche, and the #31 BMW M4 GT3 crossed the line first in a photo-finish moment.

This victory capped off a fantastic season for Weerts, adding to his podium finishes at the Nürburgring 24h and Spa-Francorchamps 24h. Team WRT’s triumph was their second consecutive win in Indianapolis, having also won in 2023. Unfortunately, their sister car, the #33 BMW M4 GT3, wasn’t as fortunate, suffering a technical defect that forced them to retire from the race.

In the GT World Challenge America, Turner Motorsport also saw success as Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley claimed the Pro-Am class title. Despite challenges, they held their ground, ultimately prevailing by a single point, making the season finale a thrilling and memorable event for BMW M Motorsport.
