AC Schnitzer has transformed the BMW M2 into a show-stopping police car, marking a bold contribution to Germany’s ‘Tune it! Safe!’ campaign. This initiative highlights the importance of responsibly tuning vehicles while embracing the thrill of high-performance customization.

This isn’t AC Schnitzer’s first foray into creating statement-making police cars. Previous designs have included the futuristic BMW i8 and the striking 8 Series. The campaign has also seen contributions like Techart’s Porsche 911 Polizei in 2006 and Brabus’s quirky Smart ForTwo in 2008. With the BMW M2, AC Schnitzer continues to raise the bar in merging performance with safety-conscious modifications.

The Polizei M2 is a visual standout, boasting an aggressive aerodynamic kit. Key upgrades include a front splitter that delivers 60kg of downforce, redesigned side skirts, a motorsport-style wing, and a rear roof spoiler. A revamped rear diffuser houses AC Schnitzer’s custom exhaust system, enhancing airflow and sound performance.
Under the hood, AC Schnitzer has elevated the M2’s 3.0-litre turbocharged engine to a formidable 552bhp and 650Nm of torque. The added power comes with a custom engine cover, further distinguishing the vehicle’s performance profile. While official acceleration times remain under wraps, the increase in output promises a leap beyond the standard M2’s already impressive numbers.
Interior modifications maintain a balance of style and function with new bucket seats, aluminium pedals, and bespoke shift paddles. Tested at the Nürburgring and equipped with adjustable suspension and premium Hankook tyres, the Polizei M2 exemplifies the perfect fusion of utility and unrestrained automotive passion.
