BMW C Evolution Scooter will make its debut in Paris

The BMW C evolution, BMW’s first electric scooter, was revealed earlier this year. Now, it will take the limelight as the scooter makes its debut at the BMW auto show exhibit in Paris.

Paris is a city where scooters are an important mean of transportation, which makes this place perfect for the scooter’s initial appearance. The near-production prototype of an e-scooter was conceived as a future-oriented vehicle for commuting between the urban periphery and the city center, there were two particular requirements for its development: performance figures comparable to those of a maxi scooter with a combustion engine and a long range in realistic conditions of use.

The electric scooter is equipped with a liquid-cooled electric motor that has a a continuous output of 11 kW and a peak output of 35 kW. The top speed is electronically limited to close to 75 miles per hour, and fully charged it has a driving range of around 60 miles.

Charging can be achieved via conventional household electric outlets or at public charging stations that offer higher voltage. A completely empty battery could be powered up in less than three hours. Intelligent recuperation is available in coasting mode and when braking.

The C Evolution features a twin disc braking system with ABS, Lightweight Metzeler Feelgreen tires, multi-functional instrument cluster and a LED daytime running lights.
