A 2014 BMW X5 prototype has been spotted winter testing in Arjeplog. The rear lights were exposed and a the possibility of a two-piece tailgate is also evident. This will allow the upper part of the tailgate to be separately opened while leaving the bottom closed. Built on the architecture of the 5 Series and focusing on weight reduction, it will most likely have four-cylinder engines in gasoline and in diesel. Six and eight cylinders turbocharged engines will also be available for the higher line. The interior is expected to be more luxurious and the vehicle will be using the latest 3D iDrive, Head Up Display, BMW Night Vision and adaptive full-LED headlights.
