TopGear names the BMW M135i as Sportscar of the Year

Top Gear decided to have a showdown between the BMW M135i and the Porsche Boxter to determine who wins the title of sportscar of 2012.  After a comprehensive test drive, the review reveals that the BMW M135i is the winner, and here’s why:

“It wins because it exceeds its remit by some margin. It explodes a few myths about BMWs. It offers fun and laughs and a sense that what you buy for £30k is proper value.”

“The BMW just seems to have more of the things that make up a car that appeals to Top Gear. It’s ever-so-slightly humdrum looking, but has the pace to make Supercar owners wince!! It’s one of the best cars BMW makes, and, as it happens, this incredible, improbable, actually very humdrum looking little hatchback turns out to be the TG Sports car of the year.”
