In just the first 10 months of sale, there were 1,288 units sold and that’s an increase of 13.6% year on year. Since its launch, the BMW i8 and i3 has generated 70,000 unit sales combined. That translates to 2.2 million in annual sales.

BMW confirmed that they have bigger goals for next year. They want to sell at least 100,000 electric cars in 2017.
