20,000 BMW i Vehicles Sold in the 1st Quarter of 2017

The BMW Group has a goal to sell 100,000 electric cars in 2017, and so far, it seems that they will reach it. The first quarter of this year ended with nearly 20,000 sold BMW i and iPerformance cars, but the sales are expected to grow in the near future. Why do they count on this? Because they released two cars that are considered to be the highest sales drivers in March, so they didn’t really affect the current sales figures.

One of those two is the BMW 530e iPerformance, which has a huge bestseller potential among the hybrids. It offers 252 HP and consumes only 1.9-2.1 liters of fuel per 100 km.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of sold hybrids has nearly doubled. BMW sold a total of 62,000 electrified cars in 2016, and as we already mentioned, they hope to have 40%+ more sales this year.
