BMW continues to fuse art and innovation, now showcasing the BMW i5 Flow NOSTOKANA at Contemporary Istanbul. This exhibit, open for visitors from October 24-27, 2024, introduces a cutting-edge visual experience. The BMW i5 Flow, which first debuted at Frieze Los Angeles, brings a mesmerizing fusion of colour-changing technology and art by renowned South African artist Esther Mahlangu.
The advanced E Ink technology sets this installation apart, enabling the vehicle to change colours dynamically. Inspired by Mahlangu’s bold geometric patterns, the design evolves continuously, offering viewers a captivating visual treat. The combination of BMW’s technical brilliance and Mahlangu’s art transforms the i5 Flow into a living, moving canvas.
Renzo Vitale’s soundscape complements the visual spectacle and adds depth to the experience. Drawing inspiration from Mahlangu’s cultural heritage and painting process, Vitale’s sound performance creates a harmonious blend of auditory and visual art. This multi-sensory approach combines art, technology, and tradition in a powerful installation.
BMW’s ongoing collaboration with artists like Mahlangu underscores the brand’s dedication to art and innovation. As a long-time supporter of Contemporary Istanbul, Borusan Otomotiv proudly presents this unique art-meets-technology piece, solidifying BMW’s presence in the art world.
