Seems like the BMW has given a green light for the model we’ve been expecting for some time now, the BMW i5. There are some first design sketches that show more details about this car.
This is according to the new report which comes from the UK. As Autocar claims, their own sources from Munich have confirmed that the i5 will be officially launched in 2021 in an SUV body.
How did BMW decide this? They seem to rely on the increasing popularity of the EV sector and wanted to introduce the electrical SUV before the competition. They may not manage to beat the competition, as Mercedes-Benz has announced their electric SUV for 2020, but it’s close enough for them not to be set back.
However, before the i5 hits the market, we will witness another i car being born: the BMW i8 Spyder.
