The BMW i8 Safety Car amazes the crowd at the 2017 New York Auto Show. The updated i8 Safety Car looks like a rea; badass with a strikingly shaped rear spoiler. This also provides more pressure on the rear axle.
The good-looking rear wing is attached directly on the carbon cover which replaces the standard rear window on a safety car. To regulate the temperature inside, ventilation openings were added plus two large fans.
Because of its important role on the track, the i8 Safety Car’s performance has been improved to reach 380 hp with unmistakably modified aerodynamics. It has high full-gas content and the drivetrain trimmed further towards performance. A large front splitter was added to the front axle to provide an increase in the contact pressure.
What makes the BMW i8 Safety Car special is a set of hidden technology updates that required for racing safety use. It is an open secret that BMW i is using the safety car’s applications for the testing of components for the BMW i8 facelift.
