2023 BMW iX M60 will launch at CES in Las Vegas

Earlier this month, BMW announced the launching of the BMW iX M60 at CES in Las Vegas while technical specifications of the iX M60 were not disclosed yet. With the xDrive’s 516 horsepower, many assumed that the iX M60 would easily beat the xDrive50. BMW claimed it can do 4.4 for the 0-60mph (96km/h) or 62 mph (100km/h) run in 4.6 seconds.

A new report from Automotive News Europe reveals the technical specifications that the iX M60 will offer this 2022. Compared to the xDrive50, according to rumours, the flagship will pack 611 hp, 95 hp more than the xDrive50. Previous reports mention that the top iX model comes with 600+ hp, although BMW did not confirm rumours.

Thanks to its added electric muscle, the car will take seven-tenths of a second from the sprint. The iX M60 perfectly matches the i4 M50 for faster speed with 62 mph (100km/h) that will only take 3.9 seconds. It is somewhat similar to the US specification of the electric grand tourer. A 0-60mph (96km/h) will only take the electric grand tourer as little as 3.7 seconds.

The iX xDrive 50 is generous enough with its 765 Newton-meter (564 pound-feet) torque. Although ANE did not mention torque, the iX m60 will be much higher. Based on the WLTP cycle calculation, the M60 will have a maximum range of 357 miles (575 kilometres).

The xDrive50 can sprint as much as 391 miles (630 km). On the other hand, the xDrive40 is rated up to 264 miles (425 km) per WLTP. The xDrive50 has that ability by upgrading to a larger 111.5-kWh pack from a 76.6-kWh battery. Therefore, BMW will install a bigger battery in the M60. Along with all-wheel drive as the two lesser trim levels and dual motors.

The iX M60 will command a significant premium over the iX xDrive 50 as it is BMW’s electric M car after the i4 M50. The latter retails at least $83,200 in the US and €100,000 in Germany.
