Another exciting event awaits BMW, and that is this year’s return of the Chicago Auto Show. The BMW iX M60 will make its debut at the auto show hosted by the Bavarians. South Exhibit Hall of McCormick Place will feature the high-end iX Crossover starting today.
Last month, BMW unveiled the iX M60 at CES 2022. In preparation for its market debut in June 2022, it is now being unveiled at the auto show. Compared to the normal iX vehicles, the M Performance variant BMW iX M60 is far more powerful. With 610 horsepower to rival that of the M5 and 811 lb-ft (1,100 Nm) of torque.
If Launch Control is activated, both data are only available for a limited time. The BMW iX M60 produces 532 hp and 749 lb-ft of torque under typical conditions. In 3.6 seconds, the iX M60 with Launch Control accelerates from 0 to 60 mph. As with other BMWs, the top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.
According to a preliminary estimate from EPA, the iX M60 has a range of up to 280 miles. It is also worth noting that the 280-mile range is based on 21-inch wheels. A figure for the optional 22-inch wheels was not given by BMW. The iX models hardly differ from the typical M Performance cars. The black 22-inch wheels, optional Titanium Bronze paint and large blue brake callipers distinguish the iX M60 from the base models. Gloss black with Titanium Bronze is also seen on the “M60” badge.
Alongside the all-new BMW i4 M50, the iX M60 will also be in the spotlight. The i4 M50 is the first all-electric high-performance vehicle from BMW M. M brand enthusiasts will also experience the M5 CS, the most powerful BMW ever built. The BMW showcase will also include the all-new i4 M50, M5 CS, M3 Competition, X5 xDrive40i, and X3 M40i, in addition to the iX M60.
