[Video] Latest BMW iX3 seen in motion on its very first video online

One BMW model has probably been taking over everyone’s news feed these days: it’s none other than the BMW iX3. It’s said that this newly released electric BMW will continue what the i3 legacy sort of left off. In the Bavarian range up until the iX3, the only fully electric car was the BMW i3. The electric SUV is surely loved by many people with its surprise features which however also comes with a few shortcomings. The biggest problem, especially for US customers, is that it won’t be released in the USA.

BMW has made a statement from the get go which seemed like an impossible idea up until yesterday. It is now officially announced: the much anticipated iX3 will not be arriving any time soon on this side of the Atlantic. Realizing the strong liking of Americans for SUVs, especially the ones the size of the X3, it really looks like a peculiar decision. Instead, BMW has decided to change their main markets and focus on China and Europe. The X3 will be made in China and will be getting it first towards the end of 2020, while it will be exported tot the rest of the worl and will kick off in Europe in 2021.

The new iX3 was also announced to be offered with rear-wheel drive only. For enthusiasts, getting to drive a RWD SUV may sound great, but the real score is the lack of all-wheel drive will make a lot of people reassess their choices, especially where snow tends to be a troublesome in some countries.

So far, we’re able to see the iX3 from all angles, but today is just a good time to check it in motion for the first time. Although, there are a few carefully picked out differences between iX3 and X3, these two obviously looks like alike from all angles. With its front end having a blocked out set of kidney grilles and a different front bumper, modified air diffuser is available in the rear end and its side profile unveiling a set of aerodynamically optimized wheels which creates an interesting and cool effect once seen rolling.
