In operation for the Romanian Police Force in Bucharest is a BMW i3. Majority of the Romanian police official vehicles are based on the Dacia Logan and Volkswagen Polo models. The BMW i3 will definitely add an exciting variety to their cruisers.
The BMW i3 used in operation is equipped with the Range Extender feature which will give a driving autonomy of around 200 kilometers.
The BMW i3 REx is the first electric range extender model to be used by a Romanian police service. It is also currently used by the Los Angeles Police Department and police forces in Bayern, Milan and London.
To achieve an official look, this BMW i3 was given blue and silver police graphics and roof-installed warning lights that flashes for emergency assignments.
The pilot testing will take place for a month and the Romanian Police Force will then decide if they want to add more of these cruisers in their operations.
