We have known from the beginning that the Protonic Red Edition of BMW i8 will be limited. Still, compared to the other limited edition cars, the number of units isn’t predefined, but the time of production is. This model is going to be built until the end of 2016.
That can be both good and bad news. The time will show if it’s a good move for BMW or not. For now, they are delivering a small number of units to certain locations. For example, Australia can count only on five of these beauties, according to CarAdvice.
As they report, it’s already known which dealerships will have them. The prices will start at AUD 229,000 or around $173,000. We rightfully expect them to be sold out in the record speed.
For now, none of the five cars has been reserved, but the Australian drivers have only so little time to decide.
